Try to create not just slides, but a product
When the new product appears at the market, there are specific steps a company performs to promote it. At first, the company studies its audience, then generates ideas for the product, and finally tests and refines them until getting a finished product. Here’s a tried-and-true process of creating a presentation you can use anytime:
- study the audience,
- Sketch the ideas,
- Test the ideas, show them to focus groups and collect feedback,
- finalize the ideas until you get a ready-made presentation.

- The title slide always sells. Your first picture should be provocative, unusual, and engaging. While looking at this picture, your audience should want to learn more.
- There should be minimum text. Most people read the presentations only briefly. Do not discourage them by adding large volumes of text to your presentation.
- An excellent reading presentation should not have more than 10 to 30 slides. According to statistics, people hardly read any further.
- Choose images that reflect the meaning of the slides. Write a sentence and try to illustrate it with a picture.
- Use call-to-actions. Indicate clearly what exactly your recipient should do after watching the presentation. “Call me,” “Fill out the form,” “Send a message,” — write these call-to-actions and wait for results.
